The General Radahn boss fight is spectacular. Also known as Starscourge Radahn, it is one of the most challenging bosses in Elden Ring.
He is not exactly one of Elden Ring’s mandatory bosses, though, since you can finish the game without facing him. You only need to beat General Radahn if you want to complete Ranni the Witch’s questline and get access to Nokron, Eternal City. Regardless, the General Radahn boss fight is too awesome to miss out on.

How to Get to General Radahn
The General Radahn boss fight is activated under the Radahn Festival’s in-game event. You first need to collect the two Dectus medallions to activate the Grand Lift of Dectus. You will find the Dectus Medallion (Right) in Fort Faroth in east Caelid.
Now, go to Fort Haight in Limgrave to get the Dectus Medallion (Left). Make sure to get to the fort’s roof, and you will find the medallion there.
The Grand Lift of Dectus is located north of the Raya Lucaria Academy. Use the medallions to activate the lift. Here’s the Grand Lift of Dectus location on the map:
The portal to the General Radahn boss fight should be open now. General Radahn’s location is towards eastern Caelid. Furthermore, it’s accessible through a portal present just ahead of the Impassable Greatbridge site of grace.
Take the portal just ahead, and reach Redmane Castle, where the Radahn Festival is underway.
General Radahn Recommended Level and Drop
It would be best to face General Radahn with a level close to 70. In addition to that, you should also upgrade your weapon or magic because each hit counts.
You will receive Radahn’s Great Rune, Remembrance of the Starscourge, and 70000 Runes upon finishing the General Radahn boss fight.
General Radahn Boss Fight Guide
The General Radahn boss fight begins with him shooting gravity-magic-infused arrows at you from the other side of the desert. You can summon several NPCs to fight with you. You will see golden summon signs, generally under a white flag, as you enter the field. You can also use your mount for the boss fight unless you are playing online co-op. However, it would help if you were wary of General Radahn’s arrows as you summon NPCs. These arrows are deadly but easy to roll through once you understand the timing. So, stay on foot while you summon and keep rolling.
There are many NPC summon options in the boss fight arena. Generally, the three summons in front works great as they instantly charge towards General Radahn. In addition to that, summon the two NPCs on the right and the healer on the far right. You will find the Blaidd summon on the left.
At this point, General Radahn will aim upwards and shoot a hail of arrows that land from above and chase you. This is the perfect time to call your horse. Sprint in any direction, and the arrows won’t touch you. Moreover, you can still summon while on horseback. When the arrows have stopped, your NPCs will be forcing General Radahn into melee combat. It’s time to head in.
General radahn boss fight close range
The General Radahn boss fight requires patience and attention. He may be a giant, but his fast-sweeping attacks can easily catch you off-guard. Ideally, you want the NPCs to hold Radahn’s aggression as you safely deal damage. If you are a melee build, target General Radahn’s horse since it is easier to hit. Also, scarlet rot is General Radahn’s weakness. Infuse your weapon if you can or use Elden Ring dragon spells. Bleed is effective too.
General Radahn will pull back his blades and quickly make a spinning sweep attack. As he pulls back his blades, get close to him and roll on the opposite side of his swings. You can get some hits if you are close enough after his attack.
Depending on General Radahn’s location, he will stomp his foot and make a leaping forward attack that easily covers the distance between you and him. He will start stomping his swords in succession, ending with a sweep attack with both swords. Roll towards him and get close to avoid this attack. Also, you can attack him while he is in his combo if you time it right. Target General Radahn’s horse to land hits.
General radahn conqueror of the stars
General Radahn will pull everyone with a gravity surge and sometimes follow it up with a colossal sword slam that creates an explosion. This will one-shot you in most cases. However, you can roll to avoid being pulled in the first place. Start rolling as you see Radahn move his blades away.
Another attack you need to be careful of is where he uses orbs that follow you and pull you in. You can roll through them, but the timing needs to be good. Not to mention that the orbs themselves deal a lot of damage, and if they get you, they give Radahn another guaranteed hit.
General radahn boss fight phase 2
The General Radahn boss fight is about to get intense. Around half-health, the Starscourge Radahn will take to the skies. He is going to crash land as a meteor soon. Meanwhile, take the horse and run around, summoning as many NPCs as possible.
As the ground brightens up, you will soon feel the meteor coming in with fire. It usually spawns in front of you, so when you see the meteor in the sky, take a sharp left or right, and you will be safe.
General Radahn now has a few more gravity-based moves in addition to his original moveset. However, most of them can be rolled off or jumped over. He tends to finish a couple of his combos with a wave of magic that you can jump over. Besides that, he has a swirling attack for which you need to time your rolls well. However, it is his homing orbs that you need to watch out for.
He will swipe each blade, launching orbs on each side towards you or an NPC. It is tough to avoid this on horse, so it’s better to stay on foot and roll into the orbs as they are about to hit you.
General radahn weakness / Cheese
While there is no General Radahn cheese, such as for some other bosses in Elden Ring, you can still make the General Radahn boss fight a safe and simple one. If you are a mage build, you can spam spells on Radahn from afar. Otherwise, a bow and arrow will do the job as well. Radahn doesn’t have a lot of moves that can catch up to you on horseback, plus the horse has excellent speed anyway.
Not to mention that the Conqueror of the Stars has seemingly received a nerf in the latest Elden Ring patch 1.03.
