Halo Infinite fans won’t have to wait much longer for Infinite’s next season, titled Lone Wolves. In a trailer released today, 343 Industries announced players can expect to dive in on May 3rd for more multiplayer mayhem. While the trailer doesn’t reveal much, it does reveal that it will include “new maps, modes, themed limited-time events, and an all-new Battle Pass that never expires.”

If you’re a fan of Halo Infinite, be sure to check out our ranking of the weapons in multiplayer and a breakdown of all the maps from worst to best.

The season’s Lone Wolves theme will highlight the Lone Wolf Spartans. They are resourceful hunters who operate in enemy territory without resupply or support. Season 2’s story will have players fighting alongside Spartan Commander Laurette Agryna. The story will be told through a mixture of cinematics, events, and Battle Pass items.

Previously, 343 Industries announced two maps for the new season. The first is an Arena map called Catalyst and the second is a Big Team Battle map named Breaker. Players will be able to team up against friends and foes alike in a new mode called Last Spartan Standing. This will have players competing to be the last one standing in a free-for-all elimination style game.

There’s also a mode coming called Land Grab. There was a mode with the same name in Halo 4. Then there’s the return of an updated, all-time favorite mode: King of the Hill.

New customization options and rewards

In a blog post breaking down Season 1’s outcomes, 343 gave a peek at what is to come based on feedback from players. Season 2 is expected to offer more customization options in its free track. Players will be able to earn 1000 CR, Infinite’s in-game currency, in Season 2’s Premium Battle Pass. Players frustrated with the reward system will find higher value cosmetics like “visors, coatings, and stances” in Ultimate Rewards. Emblems and backdrops will not appear in these any longer.

They’ve even teased exactly what rewards will be offered in the first five weeks of Ultimate Rewards in Season 2 including a Battleship Haze MA40 AR Coating, Amber Yesterday Visor, and Spring Mountain Stance.

Halo Infinite was released in November of last year. In our review for the single-player campaign, Jake Valentine said “that the game doesn’t seem sure what it ultimately wants to be” but it “nailed the gameplay loop” and is a “blast to play.”
