At yesterday’s State of Play for Hogwarts Legacy, Avalanche Software treated viewers to gameplay footage and interviews with their team.
The twenty-two-minute-long video showcased brand new gameplay footage, a deep dive into classes and spells, a glimpse at Hogwarts and other locales to explore, and a peek at a story involving dark wizards and goblins and corrupted creatures.
You’ll play as a new student at Hogwarts starting in your fifth year and get sorted into your Hogwarts House in the game.
Wondering if you’ll be able to play it on your console? The Hogwarts Legacy website says, “Hogwarts Legacy will be available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.”
The game will be accessible to most any player. Players also won’t have to worry about the game, including microtransactions or in-game purchases, either.
Though publisher Warner Bros. Interactive didn’t give an official date, we can expect to get to play the game this Holiday season. For now, plan on diving into the world come November or December of 2022.
The official website describes the game as “an immersive, open-world action RPG” where players can “experience Hogwarts in the 1800s.”
They say, “Your character is a student who holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart. Now you can take control of the action and be at the center of your adventure in the wizarding world. Your legacy is what you make of it.”
We stand against J.K. Rowling’s hateful and harmful remarks about transgender people. The game’s official site mentions that she has no direct involvement. “J.K. Rowling is not directly involved in the creation of the game, however, her extraordinary body of writing is the foundation of all projects in the Wizarding World. This is not a new story from J.K.
