To get golden armor in Animal Crossing New Horizons, you’ll need to unlock the special DYI crafting recipe, which requires a total of eight gold nuggets. This recipe can be somewhat tricky to find, as there are only three ways to unlock it.
The best chance players have of finding the golden armor recipe is if an NPC randomly offers it to the player as a reward. Your other two options are to find the recipe inside a message in a bottle or in a gift balloon, but these are rare occurrences.
Once you’ve secured the golden armor recipe, you’ll need to find a total of eight gold nuggets to craft it. You’ll find gold nuggets by mining rocks, which can be a little challenging due to the fact the gold nuggets are rare drops. To make your life easier, you’ll want to use upgraded tools when grinding for gold nuggets, because they offer a higher drop rate.
If you’ve run out of rocks to mine, you can find more by visiting a resource island. Remember, if you destroy a rock, it’ll take 24 hours for it to spawn again. Once you’ve collected enough nuggets, you’ll be able to visit the crafting station and make the highly coveted golden armor, which can also be sold for a cool 80,000 Bells.
