There are tons of different ways to change up your loadouts in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. One way to to change the reticle that you are using with your weapon. How to Unlock Reticles in Modern Warfare | Is it bugged?
Unlocking reticles in the latest Call of Duty is pretty straightforward, simply complete the challenges shown in the loadout menu. However, thanks to a pesky bug in the game, unlocking reticles isn’t quite as straightforward as it seems.

Technically, reticles can be unlocked in Modern Warfare by completing challenges with specific sights equipped. In the list below, you can see the list of sights needed to unlock certain reticles in the Modern Warfare.
- Operator Reflex Sight – Reflex Optics
- Corp Combat Holo Sight – Holo Optics
- 4.0x Flip Hybrid – Hybrid Optics
- Solozero NVG Enhanced – Thermal Optics
- Scout Combat Optic – ACOG Optics

Using the reticles above will unlock that specific reticle for all weapons with that optic. For example, using the Operator Reflex sight to get 200 kills will unlock the reticle for all weapons using Reflex optics.
Unfortunately, it seems for some players that are unable to complete these challenges, even if they have the proper sight equipped. This is due to a nasty bug in Modern Warfare that has been present for a while now.
While this is incredibly annoying, there isn’t much that can be done about it until Activision is able to push out a fix for it. However, it doesn’t seem that all players are suspect to the reticle bug, but only a select few. So if you’re one of the lucky ones, enjoy it!
