Among Us recently had a massive flood of cheaters. These guys can only hack the game on older versions, so an update can kick them out. This is part of Innersloth’s attempts to “complete” Among Us since they don’t plan on making a sequel, and it’s much appreciated! So, if you want to avoid getting your lobby hacked, make sure your game is on the most current version! If you’re worried that your game is still running an older edition, we’ll explain how to update Among Us!
How to Update Among Us
The instructions for updating Among Us will depend on what platform you’re playing on. Below you’ll find instructions for updating your game on PC and mobile.
For PC, updating Among Us is simple.
- Right-click Among Us and go to Properties.
- Open the Betas tab.
- Select the “public-beta” option.
You’ll also want to make sure you update the game by choosing “automatic updates” settings in the “updates” tab. If you like manual updates, then use “Verify Integrity of Game Files.” This will also make sure you have the newest update, even if you are updating automatically.
For iOS and Android, the anti-cheat update is not yet available. But if you want to ensure you have the latest version, you can simply check the App Store to see if any updates are available, Alternatively, you can simply delete the app and reinstall it from the App Store.
For Android devices, the process is the same. Either check for updates or delete and reinstall the game to ensure you have the latest version available. Who knows, there might be an update waiting for you, after all! However, a fresh install will ensure that you are fully updated with whatever InnerSloth has put out. Hopefully, the anti-cheat update will be pushed to mobile devices in the next few days/weeks.
