Insomniac may be known for hit games like Marvel’s Spider-Man or Sunset Overdrive, but the Ratchet and Clank series is the studio’s real bread and butter. These third-person sci-fi experiences hit all the right marks: Fast action, smooth gameplay, memorable characters, and charm galore. However, they’re not available on all platforms, leaving some gamers green with envy. Is there a way to play these games on a computer? Is Ratchet and Clank available for PC?
Are Ratchet and Clank games on PC?
Ratchet and Clank is not on PC. All of the games in the series have released exclusively for PlayStation consoles. Plus, now that Sony owns Ratchet and Clank developer Insomniac Games, there’s even less of a chance that the series will ever come to PC.
A little history lesson might help clear things up. While Insomniac Games has worked closely with Sony and the PlayStation team for decades, they weren’t originally a first-party studio. Instead, they were what’s called a second-party studio: Sony helped finance certain games or series, but Insomniac was otherwise free to develop projects for other platforms.

As you may have guessed, Ratchet and Clank is one such series that has always been developed exclusively for PlayStation. To date, Insomniac has developed 11 separate games in the series, and every single one is a PlayStation exclusive:

- Ratchet: Deadlocked (2005) – PS2
- Tools of Destruction (2007) – PS3
- Quest for Booty (2008) – PS3

- All 4 One (2011) – PS3
- Full Frontal Assault (2012) – PS3 / PS Vita
- Into the Nexus (2013) – PS3
- Ratchet & Clank (2016) – PS4
If you want to play Ratchet and Clank, you need a PlayStation console. The games are not available on PC, and now that Sony owns Insomniac, they probably never will be. This is also the case for Rift Apart, which will release exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
