If you didn’t heed Bandai Namco’s warning regarding Jump Force, it’s officially too late.

The publisher confirmed on Twitter it removed the game and its character pack DLC from all virtual storefronts. Also, players can no longer purchase virtual currency.

Bandai Namco also confirmed it will remove some online functionality from Jump Force on August 24. This includes online events, clan functions, viewing the Notice Board, viewing the leaderboards, the in-game store, online ranked matches, logging into the multiplayer lobby, and accepting rewards from the Reward Counter.

The Premium Shop will remain open until August 1.

The good news is you can still play Jump Force offline. Online multiplayer PvP will also remain intact, though there’s no telling when Bandai Namco will take that offline.

Finally, any DLC purchased before today’s delisting will work just fine.

Jump Force released in February 2019 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The game also released on the Nintendo Switch in August 2020.

On one hand, the game saw some success. The Game Awards 2019 and 2020’s DICE Awards nominated Jump Force for the best fighting game of 2019.

However, its critical reception was lukewarm at best. Jump Force currently carries a top critic average of 57 on OpenCritic, with general criticism including dull gameplay, a disappointing story, and a polarizing art style.

Here’s hoping this doesn’t dissuade others from making a crossover fighting game. Jump Force features 40 playable characters from several Shonen Jump properties, including Dragon Ball, Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, and more.

It was cool to see Bleach’s Ichigo Kurosaki go up against Dragon Ball’s Goku. That said, the game featured some questionable fighters. I’m not sure who gave the green light to Yugi from Yu-Gi-Oh, for example.

At least the game has a strong community, with its subreddit boasting over 39,000 members.

  1. i think it’s dumb as hell for the ones who got the game late to not be able to purchase and experience dlc characters. it’s no question that this game will be dead before 2023. my opinion, they should just drop dlc characters as a free download period. if your taking online tanked off which is the biggest hit for Jump Force, then what’s the point of going online right? for PVP regular matches? people want people in there own skill level. if you do PVP matches only, you’ll get someone who’s been playing since 2019 going against someone who just started playing this within a weeks time with no skill, story mode only and barely any experience that came with the game since 2019. hell i’m a BR kinda guy, but it’s just the principle of the matter. give the community the dlc characters as a free download. hell, i’ll even play more of that happens.

    • Facts because now i want ot buy the last of the dlc and i can’t so the game will be incomplete for me without thise characters its just stupid they shoild at least leave the dlc for purchase.
