Out of nowhere, Nintendo decided to announce a brand new Kirby game. Titled Kirby’s Dream Buffet, the Nintendo eShop exclusive is set to release later this summer. A trailer is also available, giving us a glimpse of what to expect.
Nintendo is being pretty scarce with details for Kirby’s Dream Buffet. The trailer gives off some Fall Guys impressions, which also matches with the game’s description on Nintendo’s website:
“Roll through a smorgasbord of food-themed stages in 4 rounds of 4-player* fun as Kirby…who seems rounder than usual? Race through delicious obstacle courses to collect strawberries as Kirby grows. Then, turn the tides in the final round—a fruity fight atop a floating platform.
- Roll through delicious, food-themed obstacle courses in 4-player matches
- Collect strawberries to grow bigger and prepare for the final battle”
This is far from the first spin-off starring Kirby. The Nintendo GameCube saw Kirby Air Ride offered a variety of racing and multiplayer features. Kirby’s Dream Buffet seems to be more of that, but with a bigger emphasis on the party atmosphere.
Currently, there is no release date for Kirby’s Dream Buffet. We’ll be sure to update as more comes along later this summer.
