Update: This is now official

It may not be God of War: Ragnarök or Horizon: Forbidden West, but PlayStation Plus looks to be getting some impressive games next month.

French website Dealabs reports three games coming to PS+ Essential in December. The site has a reliable track record with leaks, so don’t be surprised when Sony confirms the news in the next couple of days.

The headliner is Mass Effect, whose Legendary Edition will join the PlayStation Plus line-up. Released in April 2021, Mass Effect Legendary Edition is the remaster of the original Mass Effect trilogy. It includes a graphical update and improved controls, particularly the original game. According to the report, it will only be available on PlayStation 4.

Coming to PS4 and PS5 is Biomutant, a charming action RPG with a cult following. The third title, also coming to PS4 and PS5, is Divine Knockout, a 3D fighter.

It’s been a rough year for PlayStation Plus. After the service got its revamp with an Xbox Game Pass-style library, PS Plus saw its subscriber count drop by 2 million users since June. There are quality games you can play right now on PS Plus, but one issue that could be hurting the service is the lack of day one releases. Game Pass is notorious for including games in its library on the same day as its retail release. PlayStation boss Jim Ryan, however, is adamant that PS Plus will not see day one releases
