Turtle Rock Studios and Warner Bros. Games revealed Back 4 Blood’s first major expansion in full detail today. Appropriately titled Tunnels of Terror, it takes players through Ridden-infested tunnels full of loot, new creatures, and plenty of gore in a PVE-style adventure. The DLC comes out on April 12, 2021. Back 4 Blood is one of the best games to offer crossplay. You and your friends, regardless if they play on PC or console, play this new expansion together.

The trailer reveals two new playable characters. Sharice is a former firefighter who wants to burn Hives, the Ridden, and everything to the ground. She wields an axe and specializes in defense. In the trailer, she pinpoints how these Ridden Hives are full of equipment perfect for looting.

Enter the next character, Heng, a former chef who now spews food and restaurant-based puns as he slices and dices with his chef’s knife. He can sense gear and loot through walls as well as detect nearby hive entrances, making him a great addition to your team to explore Hives.

Back 4 Blood released on October of 2021 with eight playable characters and they’ll join Tunnel of Terror’s newest additions in exploring and looting the Hives. The Hives are full of familiar enemies and a few new ones. Expect to run into new enemies like the landmine-setting Urchins, the grotesque Shredder, and the punch-packing Ripper.

When you’re not overrun by the Ridden, there are plenty of new weapons and cards to find. Tunnels of Terror features “seven new legendary weapons, eight exclusive character skins, 12 new weapon skins, new cards, and more.”

One of the legendary weapons featured in the trailer is called Damnation. It has incendiary rounds that light the target on fire. There’s also the Tenderizer, a melee-based weapon that dismembers enemies and does explosive damage on impact in a large area.

For gamers looking for more of a challenge, the expansion will release alongside the new difficulty option called No Hope. It will add an extra layer of challenge for Back 4 Blood’s best players.

Back 4 Blood is available now for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC. Back 4 Blood’s first expansion, Tunnels of Terror will be available on April 12 as part of the Back 4 Blood: Ultimate Edition, Back 4 Blood: Deluxe Edition, Back 4 Blood Annual Pass, or via standalone purchase.
