The beta promises to give access to all new content in the Overwatch universe. In order to sign up, you’ll need an account with Blizzard. Once logged in to the website, select the option to opt-in from the Overwatch 2 page. After accepting the user agreement, you’ll be registered. From there, all you can do is wait to receive an invitation to one of the beta tests.

While maintaining the visual aesthetic of the first game, Overwatch 2 is claiming to add a whole new batch of features. At the top of the list is the inclusion of brand new heroes to play alongside returning ones. That being said, the original heroes will also be getting updates in the form of new skills that players will be able to use in battle.

With Overwatch 2 in serious development and testing, Overwatch stands to be one of Blizzard’s most successful and profitable series. The first game came out in 2016 and continues to be played both casually and competitively. Though starting out being exclusively PvP, Overwatch was made in such a way that it could be continuously updated. This generally took the form of new characters, costumes, and holiday events. Eventually, the popularity of the game’s lore and characters was so great that a Campaign Mode was added.

With that in mind, Overwatch 2 is going to have a main campaign that players will be able to face together or alone in PvE. Although there’s no definitive release date on the horizon, the beat is currently underway with people signing up and those testing sharing footage. The closed beta focuses on the PvP aspects of the game with no defined end date. Try your luck at opting-in while you still can.
