Phasmophobia Insurance

In Phasmophobia, players are given insurance for their ghost hunting gear, but many players don’t know what it does or how it works. From figuring out how to get insurance and understanding how it works well help you play the game more effectively and our guide will explain the mechanic in full. Let’s take a look.

How to Get Insurance in Phasmophobia

In Phasmophobia, insurance allows players to earn a little bit more money at the end of their hunt for the ghost. Essentially, the equipment you use in the game is insured, meaning you can get a small refund on any unused ghost hunting gear, as long as you stay alive.

However, it’s a bit different if a player dies to the ghost during a game. If this happens, you are technically still covered with insurance but you will only get a small percent of the final cut, whereas if you stayed alive, you’d get a larger cut. This changes depending on what level of difficulty you choose to play on.

So if you choose to play the game’s level on Amateur, you’re insured for 50% of your items bought at the games start. You will also get 25% at the Intermediate level and nothing with the Professional level turned on. If you die, these percentages will decrease even more.

As you can see, not only do you need to stay alive to win the game, but you will also be rewarded with a small refund if you do. Additionally, it’d be wise not to use unnecessary equipment so you can get some money back. Now that you know how to get insurance in Phasmophobia, you can get back to ghost hunting. Well, that is if you’re still brave enough.
