Playstation VR2 Launches in February for Over $500

Sony announced the price tag and release date for the upcoming PlayStation VR2. 

According to the PlayStation blog, PS VS2 will launch on February 22nd, 2023. It will come with a headset, PS VR2 Sense controllers, and stereo headphones. It does not include a charging station, which will be sold separately for $49.99

The price tag? USD 549.99. 

Yes, that’s more than the PlayStation 5 console itself. 

A bundle with Hroizon Call of the Mountain will run $599.99.

In addition, 11 games were announced today for PlayStation VR2

  • The dark Pictures: Switchback VR
  • Cities VR Enhanced
  • Crossfire: Sierra Squad
  • The Light Brigade
  • Cosmonious High
  • Hello Neighbor Search & Rescue
  • Jurassic World Aftermath Collection
  • Pistol Whip VR
  • Zenith: The Last City
  • After the Fall
  • Tentacular

Sony mentions they expect over 20 games to be available at launch. One such game for PlayStation VR2 is Horizon Call of the Mountain. Expect more titles to be announced in the future. 

Certain regions and markets will have specific rules for purchasing and pre-order PS VR 2 during its initial release. Sony goes into further detail:

“During this initial launch phase for our next-gen headset, players in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg will initially be able to pre-order PlayStation VR2 solely through PlayStation’s online store at direct.playstation.com. Pre-orders will begin on November 15th, and players may begin to register for pre-orders starting today. Orders from direct.playstation.com for PlayStation VR2 headsets and bundles will ship throughout the week of launch.  

In other markets, PlayStation VR2 will be sold at participating retailers, with pre-orders beginning on November 15th. Information will be provided through participating local retailers in these regions.”
