Sons of the Forest Shovel Location - Where to Find

Unlike many survival-craft games, Sons of the Forest does not always let you make the tools that you need. Sometimes, you’ll need to find these items across the map, which can be a chore in the best of times. One extremely hard-to-find item in Sons of the Forest is the shovel. You would think that the ability to dig in the ground would be simple to create for yourself, but not in this forest! Let’s find it, so we can start looking for treasure.

Where to Find the Shovel in Sons of the Forest

In order to traverse the cave that contains the shovel in Sons of the Forest, you will need the Rebreather, a Zipline Gun, and the ability to destroy loose rocks and large mutants, such as with explosives. The cave is west of the snow-covered mountain, sitting along the southern side of the stream that cuts the continent in half. You’ll need to get to the other side of the cave and dive underwater to enter the cave properly. Then, follow the cave to find a corpse which will have your prize resting on its leg.

Finding the cave in the first place can be tricky. However, if you follow the stream in the center of the island, which leads to the snowy mountain, you will eventually find bodies propped up on pikes. That means you’re at the entrance!

Fire your zipline across to the other side and begin your journey. After swimming you’ll need to slide a cliffside and loot some items after beating a lot of mutants! You’ll likely be ready to fight this many by the time you have both the Rebreather and the Zipline Gun, but it pays to be prepared.

Once you get into the second series of chambers, just keep heading to the back of the room. Loot the flashlight, then dive into the next body of water. You should be in the room with the corpse that holds your Shovel. This item is very useful for finding hidden items, like the Shotgun.

You can leave the cave by turning around, swimming, and then hugging the right wall. This’ll bring you to some fallen rocks and a large mutant that you can blow up with bombs.
