Star Wars leaker Bespin Bulletin reports that the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel is still penciled in for a release this year. The plan is to debut the game at Star Wars Celebration 2022, which will occur at the end of May.
This matches what industry insider Jeff Grubb has heard, with a plan for a reveal before E3 later this year for the Fallen Order sequel. Bespin Bulletin references Grubb in their post.
“I decided to reach out to a second and third source, one being…Jeff Grub. I relayed what I was told and shortly after they…came back with an update. The sources had been told similar things as I, that unveiling the title at Star Wars Celebration is still a real possibility and that releasing the title this year was possible.
“Jeff Grub went on to reveal on his GiantBomb show GrubbSnax that it’ll be shown before E3 2022, suggesting a May unveiling – it’s worth mentioning that an announcement for May the 4th wouldn’t be out of the question, with a full trailer debut at Celebration.”
There is a caveat regarding the 2022 release for the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel. Due to (presumed) hiccups in development caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, there’s a strong chance that the game won’t release until next year. Bespin Bulletin goes on to theorize that the most likely release window, should the game be ready, will be alongside the targeted release of The Mandalorian season three at the end of this year.
Bespin Bulletin also gave some information regarding two other Star Wars games in the pipeline.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will hopefully release in April/May. That’s may be in limbo, however, due to Covid-19. The Knights of the Old Republic remake will currently release in 2023. As a reminder, while the original was recently released for Nintendo Switch, this is a ground-up remake developed by Aspyr Media.
