On top of the farming and mining aspects of Stardew Valley, quests are another feature players can take part in. By completing quests, players will be able to earn money from NPCs and the Valley itself, coupled with a variety of favors for the characters in the game. One of the beginning quests in the game starts off in Spring, with players being tasked to locate Robin’s lost axe.
So, this guide will explain where you can find the item in question to then return the axe to Robin to complete the Robin’s Lost Axe quest. This happens fairly early in your gameplay, so there’s a good chance that you might have stumbled upon the axe already! Let’s see what needs to be accomplished here.
Where to Find Robin’s Lost Axe
Before we get into the specific location on where to return Robin’s lost axe in Stardew Valley, you must know two things first: how to get the quest from Robin and where to find the item itself.
With that in mind, to get the quest, you need to have received the letter from Robin on or around the 11th day of Spring.
This will come in your mail automatically, so you won’t have to do anything extra special to obtain it.
Once you receive Robin’s request, check your quest log, look for the letter from Robin, and read through Robin’s note. This will initiate the quest, with her stating that she lost the axe out in the woods that are south of Marnie’s Ranch.Â
This location mentioned in the letter is precisely where you need to go, and if you look at the map above, you can see that we went ahead and provided you with the general location of the axe.
If you prefer written instructions, to get to the axe, you need to head southeast of Pelican Town and toward the ocean. After you reach the area shown in our image, you are going to need to head east until you find the axe sitting next to a curved cliff.

Expert Tip
With the axe’s location sitting next to Marnie’s Ranch, be sure to visit the other nearby villagers to stay up-to-date with any unaccomplished quests and goals. It’s directly south of your Farm.
How to Return Robin’s Lost Axe
Once you have the lost axe, all you need to do now is simply return it to Robin. Evidently, this will close out her quest, but you’ll need to know where she’s at first.
Typically, she can be found in her shop at the Carpenter’s Shop north of town, but sometimes she will be walking around town as well.
Other spots that we’ve seen Robin around include Pierre’s General Store during the weekdays and the Stardrop Saloon on the weekends. Friday seems to be her most socially active day as she goes to celebrate the end of the work week at the aforementioned Saloon.
When you reach her place at the Carpenter’s Shop, go behind the counter, then talk to her with the axe in hand.
She will thank you and reward you with 250 gold and one Friendship heart, which means you have completed the Stardew Valley Robin’s Lost Axe quest.
Although if you’ve already attained a full Friendship level with Robin, then the extra heart becomes unimportant.
Expert Tip
Don’t forget to accept the Gold reward for the quest in your journal. As we continue down our epic journeys in the Valley, we can easily forget about some fundamental features, with the Gold rewards acting as a big one for some players out there.
