Gamers can look forward to bringing chaos to Metropolis a bit later than expected. Over a month ago, Bloomberg reported that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was being delayed until 2023. Today, gamers received confirmation of it from the Creative Director and Co-Founder at Rocksteady, Sefton Hill.
He tweeted today that the crew at Rocksteady has “made the difficult decision to delay Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League to Spring 2023.” He acknowledges that a delay is frustrating and thanks gamers for their patience. The Justice League will fall, just not as soon as many hoped.
This isn’t the first game under the Warner Bros umbrella to have a dealy. Upcoming game Hogwarts Legacy and a LEGO version of Star Wars have also had their release dates pushed back. With a change in development primarily due to COVID-19 related issues, it is no surprise Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has also seen a delay. Hopefully, it will just be the one, and it will arrive in about a year.
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League looks to shine a light on the villains in the DC world. It will be an action-adventure game developed by Rocksteady, known for the Batman: Arkham games, and is a continuation of that series.
It will feature four playable characters: Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, and King Shark. In a fun twist, the heroes the foursome are trying to kill are brainwashed. Superman, Flash, and Green Lantern have all fallen under the control of supervillain Brainiac. With most heroes indisposed, it falls upon the Suicide Squad to save the world by killing the Justice League and stopping Brainiac. You can check out the story trailer here.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S in Spring 2023.
