Terraria Steampunker - How to Get

Of all the NPC Vendors in Terraria, the Steampunker is probably the most interesting. Wearing a jacketed garb and a top hat, this eccentric Vendor will move into your base and offer her wares once certain conditions are met. Here’s what you need to do to bring her around.

How to Get the Steampunker in Terraria

The Steampunker will come along once a Mechanical Boss has been beaten. For most players, this means defeating the Wall of Flesh and crossing over into Hardmode first. While you could possibly do this prior to unlocking Hardmode, doing so would involve carrying over a player into a new world that has already been in Hardmode.

No matter how you go about it, meeting this requirement will bring along the Steampunker NPC Vendor. She carries many unique items only available from her specifically. As we described in our recent Asphalt making guide, she is the only way to get the Blend-O-Matic. On top of this, she also sells three of the most useful traversal tools in the game.

For a whopping 50 Gold, she will sell you the Static Hook. This allows for two hooks to be sent out with far reach, and will leave you suspended at whatever height you happen to be at when moving towards or away from the hook. This is extremely useful for traversing over hazards without risking falling into them.

For another 40 Gold, provided the Moon is in phases 5-8, the Jetpack can be bought from the Steampunker. This allows for very fast vertical ascents and should make most gaps reachable with ease.

Probably the most useful of all, however, is the Teleporter. When you pony up two Gold and 50 Silver each, two Teleporters can be wired together from any distance for instantaneous travel between two points. This is provided you hoof it to point B at least once and lay the wire along the way. This is great for making repeat trips to certain areas, or even just quicker movement across the world.
