The story will follow the campaign on two fronts, Western and Eastern. You can play as the Allies or Soviets in either the single-player or multiplayer mode.
Managing big weaponized armies to gain control over the map’s area while constantly digging trenches and trying to defend the captured zones, this game will surely wake the commander in you. The game’s release date is yet to be published, but after some postponement, it should release soon.

Players can try out the best military forces from America and Russia. A unique way of controlling and using your army is one of the standout features of Broken Arrow. There are more than 100 unit types and great other unit decks and effects. This will guarantee you end the game with a hellscape left from the starting map.
Cepheus Protocol
One of the first RTS games with a zombie narrative, the Cepheus Protocol is yet another title we’re excited about.
The game offers some great mechanics and options, which are rare in the RTS genre. It allows fighting the new zombie outbreak in San Francisco. You deploy and manage special operator teams, vehicles, or even helicopters to seek and destroy the virus patient zero. The game has beautiful graphics and remarkable detail.
It is already released and is playable, but in the beta version, we are still waiting for the developers to finish the game and fix all the bugs. However, even in development, the game offers so much potential, like a first-person mode, that it had to be put on our list of 2023 strategy games.
SpellForce: Conquest of Eo
This beautiful-looking game, set in the world of SpellForce, won’t leave you indifferent. It’s a classical turn-based strategy, with the campaign and tactical battles in an appealing world filled with fantasy and magic.
All of the heroes offer unique quests and gameplay, which leads the campaign to vary and be different depending on every turn you take. With beautiful graphics and a world filled with fantasy, it’s definitely a go and earned its place on our list.
Fallen Frontier
This RTS takes us into the deep far space of the sci-fi universe, where you need to build an interstellar empire from zero. It is a slightly off-building mechanics since you are making a galactic empire that spreads and takes planets and stars within itself.
You fight through the stunning universe to take control and become a literal God. The game has shocking levels of detail, and just looking at the graphics and zooming into the planets will be enough to make you breathless and love the game.
Frostpunk 2
We continue our list of 2023 strategy games with the sequel to the fantastic and dark Frostpunk. The game aims to continue the last one’s story—an excellent option for someone who loves city-building games in a post-apocalyptic world. Set in the post-apocalyptic arctic environment, your task is rebuilding and the sole survival of our race.
The central aspect of the game is the tough decisions that the player has to make, which are moral or necessary for the survival of the human race. Every mistake can cost you dearly. So, be prepared to choose wisely since everything depends on you.
Manor Lords
Finally, a big title for medieval RTS lovers with all the elements needed. The game offers excellent options, from town building to realistic medieval battles. There are also beautiful terrain and unit graphics.
After constructing your settlement, you can trade, explore, and conquer the remaining tribes and kingdoms. You will have various options for units, similar to the Total War series, making this game a dream come true for the Middle Ages concept.
Warlord Britannia
A tremendously realistic and hardcore experience for players, Warlord Britannia is set in the Age of the Roman Empire.
Your quest is to conquer the land in the name of Rome. First, gather resources and build your fortifications. Then, you recruit your army, which consists of various units, making the gameplay more enjoyable.
After building a large enough army, you start capturing the land from the barbarians. You can even participate in the fights first person. So, it has all the elements a strategy needs to have. The only downside is the not-so-special graphics.
King’s Orders
We wrap out our list of 2023 strategy games we’re excited about with King’s Orders. This strategy game has a different concept from the other games listed.
Its special gameplay mechanic seems innovative; your task is to conquer states and provinces.
But, instead of commanding cities and your armies, you command them through messages. You have to pay attention to logistics, for example, the roads and routes for travel. Therefore, every message and its arrival on time is important.
This changes the classic concept of RTS games and sounds like a good idea worth exploring.
