Total War: Warhammer III launched last week to mixed user reviews, many of which complained about the game’s poor performance at launch. In response, Creative Assembly announced today that a number of hotfixes for Warhammer 3 are currently in the works.

The folks over at Creative Assembly stated that they have been monitoring the situation over the past several days and are in the process of implementing a hotfix aimed at improving the game’s performance.

According to the company, “the focus of this first build is to address some of the multiplayer lobby issues, the DirectX problems we’ve seen from players running DX12, and hopeful framerate improvements for players using modern Intel CPU’s.”

CA also went on to say that the exact contents of the patch will be announced shortly, most likely in the next few days. The first hotfix for Total War: Warhammer III is expected to be released sometime later this week, but there’s a chance it could be pushed back to next week.

The developer’s current strategy is to release small hotfixes at regular intervals. As opposed to a big update that would contain more fixes but would also take much longer to develop. Creative Assembly hopes this will help fix at least some of the problems asap before moving on to tackle the remaining ones.

“We’ve decided to take a surgical approach to address them: deploying smaller hotfixes at a faster rate rather than waiting to compile fixes into a large update that smashes multiple issues at once,” said the developer. “We are determined to make improvements as quickly and safely as possible, but it’s crucial that we avoid rushing the process at the expense of the game’s stability.”

No Dlc Announcements Just Yet

Fans eager to hear more about potential DLC plans for Total War: Warhammer III will have to wait a while longer. The developer isn’t saying anything about post-launch content just yet, but I’m sure we’re going to hear about that sometime in the coming months. If the metric ton of Total War: Warhammer 2 DLC is any indication, we can expect CA to support the final part of the trilogy with new content for years to come.
