After two years of post-launch support, Ubisoft has announced the final Assasin’s Creed Valhalla update.

Valhalla originally launched on November 10th, 2020. In addition to being available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, the game was also available at launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The title was also available on the Google Stadia and Amazon Luna cloud gaming platforms.

While not available on Steam, there are hints that the game will be coming to the PC platform shortly.

The most recent Assassin’s Creed game takes place in 9th century Norway with a heavy focus on Viking thematics and culture. Ubisoft originally planned an expansion for Valhalla, but it eventually became its own game.

“On December 6,” reads a post on Ubisoft’s website, “we will be releasing our final content update for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, wrapping up two amazing years of post-launch support. Title Update 1.6.2 will include some exciting new content for the game, including The Last Chapter, a touching and intimate conclusion to Eivor’s saga.

This epilogue will tie up some of the storylines developed throughout the game and offer closure to your time among the Raven Clan.”

Ubisoft teases additional updates as part of their final farewell for Valhalla.

Following this final Assassin’s Creed Valhalla update, the future will see Assassin’s Creed return to its roots. Assassin’s Creed Mirage will take place before the events of Valhalla and heavily emphasize stealth action. It is expected to release in 2023 and will take place in Baghdad.

Two additional games, Assassin’s Creed: Red and Assassin’s Creed: Hexe, will take place in Feudal Japan and 16th century Central Europe respectively.
