Sea Monsters are something that humanity has been trying to find in order to kill and take home since the dawn of time. Whether it’s the Loch Ness monster or the giant squid, humanity has an obsession with what lives in the deep. In Valheim, this is also the case — and this time the Sea Monsters are real! So let’s learn how to kill a sea serpent!
How to Kill Sea Monsters
In Valheim, sea monsters, also known as serpents, can be found in the ocean, obviously. The serpents are pretty much exactly what you would expect from a giant sea monster. It’s a giant snake/eel-like creature whose spikes you can see poking out from underneath the water.
Serpents will be lurking in the waters of Valheim and will first attack and attempt to destroy the player’s vessel. If the sea monster is successful in destroying the player’s ship, they will start to attack the actual player themself.
If you want to take down these big evil sea serpents, then it’s recommended to set sail with a Karve boat at the bare minimum, because anything less will be easily torn apart by the monster. You are also going to want to make use of Flint arrows and at least a decent bow. The Abyssal Harpoon also comes in handy when taking on this terror from the deep.
There are a few tactics that you can use when fighting the sea serpent that will make it a bit easier. The first is that you can direct your boat to some landmass and land a harpoon on your target. Once you reach the land, you can actually lap from the boat and drag the creature onto land where it is vulnerable to your attacks while being unable to use its own.
It is also recommended that you have more than one player if you’re trying to take down a serpent so that you have more options and don’t need to do it all on your own.
