Blizzard Entertainment announced Warcraft Arclight Rumble, a new mobile game in the Warcraft universe.

Inspired by tower defense games and some similarities to Clash of Clans, this is one of the two rumored Warcraft mobile games in development. The other, a Pokemon Go-inspired game, was reportedly canceled.

The gameplay in Warcraft Arclight Rumble varies on a map-top-map basis. You’ll be tasked with attacking, or defending, various objectives. Dungeons and raids were teased as part of the available PVE content. Co-operative and PVP modes were mentioned as well.

Comparisons to Clash of Clans, as already mentioned, is fairly obvious. Blizzard even seems to lean into the Supercell artstyle over their own. Still, it seems like the most seamless and simplest transition of Warcraft-inspired gameplay to mobile devices.

Warcraft Arclight Rumble features five different playable factions: The Alliance, Horde, Blackrock, Undead, and Beasts. Various heroes from each faction will offer different spells, abilities, and tactics. A total of 65 collectible characters, called minis, will be available.

No release date was announced, just that a closed beta is coming soon. Warcraft Arclight Rumble will be playable on Android or iOS devices. No plans for either a PC, console, or even an in-World of Warcraft release were detailed.
