Today Saber Interactive, in partnership with the NFL Player’s Association (NFLPA) and OneTeam Partners, announced Wild Card Football, the latest arcade-action sports game.
After some hands-on impressions during Summer Game Fest with popular football star Colin Kaepernick, Wild Card Football is finally out in the open. The game features a loose take on the game, with excellent, wacky customization options, interesting field locations, players at every stage in their career, and, most importantly, Wild Cards.
During gameplay, players will unlock packs of cards varying in rarity. These cards will have players, cosmetic items, and mods you use after every play during the game. Some of these mods can control what the opposing team can do during their next play, but more interestingly, many can cause absolute chaos on the football field. These might look like becoming a giant and ripping your way down the field.
Kaepernick has some favorite cards: “The tornado or twister, when you’re on defense, it’ll just go through and tear everything up. It can change the dynamic of the game.” These Wild Cards help make Wild Card Football a perfect entry point to football, making it fun for the whole family.
