As you make your way through Astral Chain, you’ll find that there are tons of different items that you can pick up along the way. Some of these items you’ll be able to use, and others you’ll likely want to sell off to earn some extra coin. There is a feature in Astral Chain that allows players to recycle their unwanted items, which is causing a little bit of confusion. Here is everything you need to know about Astral Chain recycling.
Astral Chain Recycling | How does recycling work?
While it may sound like a cool game mechanic at first, recycling in Astral Chain is simply another word for salvaging. If there is an item that you don’t want, you’ll be able to recycle it, meaning that you can sell it off to a vendor for coin.

At first glance, one would probably think that Astral Chain recycling was a feature that allowed unwanted materials to be turned into something else that could be useful later on. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case and the recycling mechanic is no more than a quick sell feature.
As you’re playing, you’ll come across items that are specifically marked for salvage. For the majority of the salvaged items, the only thing that you can do with them is sell them to a vendor for a little bit of extra coin. There are however a few salvaged items that can be used for other things.
Once example is cat food, which can be recycled to a vendor or fed to a cat. If you decide to give the food to a cat, then you might be rewarded with an item of greater value.
However, the unfortunate fact is that the majority of salvageable items are used for Astral Chain recycling. Sadly, it seems that developers missed out on the chance to add a cool mechanic to its game and confused its player base in the process.
