Call of Duty: Modern Warfare How to Appear Offline

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is one of the biggest online multiplayer games right now. However, despite it being an online game, some players prefer to appear offline so they aren’t spammed with invites from their friends. In this guide, we will show you how to appear offline in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone.

If you’d like to appear offline in Modern Warfare and Warzone, you’ll need to head to the Activision website and turn off your online settings from within the Account Management tab. Inside the tab, you’ll find a section called Linked Accounts, where you can toggle off the “Sign On Visible” tab, as shown in the image above.

Further, it’s also worth noting that you can adjust your settings on your Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC to appear offline from your friends. However, if you only do this, you’ll still appear online within the game, and will only appear offline on PS Now, Xbox Live, etc. So if you truly don’t want to be bothered, make sure you appear offline on Activision’s website and on your gaming platform.

While going through all of these steps to simply appear offline in Modern Warfare is kind of a pain, you have to remember that the game is meant to be played online with others. So if you’re about ready to throw your controller through the TV because your eight-year-old cousin is spamming you with invites, try to remember that this is what the game is designed for (and that your younger cousin probably just looks up to you!)

It’s also worth noting that you can easily back appear online if and when you choose. Maybe you don’t hate playing with your cousin, you just need a break. If so, then just toggle the settings to offline for a bit and when you’ve had your fill, flip it back on and have some online fun.
