Cloud, Aerith, Barret, and the other party members have immense ground to cover in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The planet is brimming with enemy encounters and World Intel points of interest, all of which come before fighting Sephiroth and other notable foes. One such World Intel, however, has some players baffled, with the Biological Intel: Head Case scenario constantly coming into question.

Particularly, trouble is knocking players over when it involves the Mindflayer and its two stun-crazy Experimental Varghidpolises, classified as A and B. Even with two fighters by your side, defeating the Mindflayer and its accompanying monstrosities is challenging. Luckily, there are ways to prevail and take down these grotesque enemies in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

Slaying the Mindflayer and the two Experimental Varghidpolises for the Biological Intel: Head Case challenge in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth requires excellent timing and proper usage of certain Materia. Moreover, Synergy Abilities ought to be thrown into the mix, for the Mindslayer is susceptible to special attacks. Whether you choose to enter battle with one or three party members, one note is for sure: maintain your distance.

The Biological Intel is a part of the Combat Challenges in Chadley’s Combat Simulator. As part of the simulated experience, players are tasked with defeating the Mindslayer before the Experimental Varghidpolises. This is important to consider if you’re committing yourself to attaining the Platinum Trophy for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Moreover, players who complete all of Chadley’s combat simulations in the game will receive the “Virtually Renowned” trophy. This is especially helpful for players interested in reaching the max level cap in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

The Experimental Varghidpolis’s Deafening Screech stuns players, making the combat challenge frustrating. An explosive ability follows it, wrapping around the stunned party member and blowing up. This kills itself and whoever was stunned and tethered, ending the combat challenge of killing off the Mindslayer first. Block these to avoid the stun effect, though be cautious.

Depend on Synergy, Keep Your Distance, and Stagger Away

We mentioned before that Synergy Abilities are essential in your fight against the Mindflayer and the Experimental Varghidpolises. By filling your Synergy combo meters, you’ll continuously damage the Mindflayer while pulling them away from the Varghidpolises. This includes building up your ATB meter as you distract the Mindflayer from your companions.

When you feel comfortable or have kept some distance between the Mindflayer and its fellow fighting atrocities, utilize your Synergy Abilities to Pressure and Stagger the primary enemy. From there, you can bring forth your most powerful attacks before the Varghidpolises arrive for the assist. You can apply Sleep to them if you wish to keep them at bay, but there are other Materia to use in the Biological Intel: Head Case activity to keep the action going. Some of them include the following:

  • ATB Stagger
  • Poison
  • Speed Up
  • Time (and Haste)

Of course, you can wield other kinds of Materia in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth to complete the Biological Intel: Head Case problem. Whichever you choose, be sure to use your Synergy Abilities on the Mindflayer before taking on the Experimental Varghidpolises. This should go without saying, though it can be easy to divert your attention to a Varghidpolis amid battle.

Players will receive a new Enemy Skill for their efforts after defeating the Mindflayer and the two Experimental Varghidpolises in Biological Intel: Head Case. This new skill is the Mind Blast, a level 4 ability that damages a target while also inflicting Paralysis. A treat from the Mindflayer and its two explosive Varghidpolises, take this skill and use it on the most formidable enemies when you need an edge in battle.

The troubles don’t end there. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth features many enemies to face against, though the Head Case scenario is notably demanding to consider when roaming the planet.
