Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is the second chapter in Square Enix’s Remake trilogy, taking place right after the events of the first entry. In it, Cloud and his companions must traverse the expansive planet to bring an end to the Shinra Electric Power Company and Sephiroth. And as they’re facing their enemies, players can reach the max level in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth in several ways.

While Square Enix unconventionally starts players off at level 15, they’ll make incredible strides to reach the sequel’s max level cap. You won’t be mistaken if you already assume that some grinding plays into the gameplay. Regardless, if you want to spend ample time on the planet, you’ll surely reach the max level.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth players can ultimately reach up to level 70, the game’s max level cap. This is an increase of 20 from Final Fantasy 7 Remake‘s max level of 50. By doing so, players unlock the “Grind It Out” PlayStation trophy for attaining level 70 with any character. This allows players to be flexible with their selected party members, whether they control Red XIII or Cait Sith.

There’s no right or wrong as to who you choose to play as in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. As you make great efforts to attain level 70, you’ll want to play through as much content as possible. This includes the following in-game activities that become available as you play through the story:

  • Odd Jobs
  • Fiend Intel Sightings
  • Chadley’s Combat Simulator and its Challenges
  • Classified Intel (via Expedition Intel Points)
  • Other World Intel points of points

The planet offers a tremendous amount of activities for players to dive into, with the provided list coming to mind. It’s essential to yield as much EXP as possible as you complete these side quests; there’s no shortage of what you can achieve. Specific trophies tied to the activities might be of interest, such as “Virtually Renowned” for completing all of Chadley’s combat scenarios, or “My Job Here Is Done” for finishing all the quests. It’s all required if you’re eager to obtain the Platinum for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

Seek the EXP Up Materia

While you can also enhance certain Materia in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the EXP Up Materia in particular is a worthy find. Located within the Temple of the Ancients, this unique Materia increases the amount of EXP earned in battle for its user by 100%. It’s a fantastic way to help level up your characters, one that is easily missed by some players who prefer one Materia over others.

In addition to the EXP Up Materia acquisition, it’s best to utilize Chapter Select to revisit certain sections in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. There are numerous areas to farm EXP and AP for all your characters, especially where multiple enemies await combat. However, focus your attention on certain Fiend Sightings, where massive amounts of EXP are waiting for you to collect.
