If you are playing Animal Crossing New Horizons, you are probably familiar with bugs and, maybe, tarantulas. Bugs can be sold for Bells (AKA money), donated to the museum, given as presents, or even displayed as furniture accessories. Not sure why you would want a creepy crawly in your house, but hey, we won’t judge. Tarantulas, however, are dangerous to catch but are worth the risk. So just how much are Tarantulas worth in Animal Crossing New Horizons?

In New Horizons, Tarantulas can be sold at Resident Services for 8,000 Bells. Tarantulas tie with Scorpions for the most lucrative bugs in the game. However, if you wait until Flick appears, this guy will buy Tarantulas for 12,000 Bells each. I don’t know what the guy sees in these hairy little monsters, but he’s willing to shell out some serious dough to get them.
If you are in debt to Tom Nook, want to upgrade your island, or buy new accessories like clothes and furniture, then these creepy crawlies may be the way to go. If you can, try to stockpile Tarantulas so that you can sell them in bulk to Flick. This will both save you time and increase your profits by half!
Flick, if you did not know, is a big red lizard that sometimes appears on your island. That’s the thing, though, his appearance is random. When he does show up, he will be there until the next day, so you have a bit of time to unload your bugs on him. Furthermore, you can also give him three of a single bug type in order to commission a model of that bug! If you do, the model will appear in your mail the next day!
So if you want to make boatloads of money quickly, offload all of your bugs on Flick and scrounge up as many freaky little Tarantulas as you can!
