All builders must know the ins and outs of crafting various items in My Time at Sandrock. Commissions demand the best from you, and mission items are just as important as side objectives. Many of them require a Bronze-type item to be made, and players need Copper and Tin Ores for this. However, the latter is more challenging to come across in the game.

Where can builders locate the Tin Ore in My Time at Sandrock? And what is it used for when builders are called to action to assemble a few things? It’s an excellent time to gather your Pickhammer as you venture out of the Workshop to locate this important material.

You can find groups of Tin Ore by exploring the Eufaula Salvage Abandoned Ruins in My Time at Sandrock. Copper Ores are aplenty throughout the abandoned ruins, though Tin Ores begin appearing in the third layer. Any Pickhammer will do, for Copper and Tin are the primary resources to start collecting in the game.

While quarrying, you’ll need to keep an eye on your Stamina. Mining away Ores depletes your character’s energy, which can bring an adventure to a quick and disappointing close. Luckily, a shop within the Abandoned Ruins provides items that aid your endurance. Just be sure to have Gols on you that you’re ready to spend.

This is the primary method of acquiring Tin Ores in Sandrock. If not, you can spend Gols at Rocky’s Eufaula Salvage Shop, which is connected to the aforementioned Abandoned Ruins. Each Ore sells for 8 Gols, making it the second cheapest Ore to purchase (Copper being the other).

Go Fetch Ores

Additionally, once you own a pet in My Time at Sandrock, you can assign them to dig for Tin Ore. Of course, this potentially also includes some of the other Ores that your furry friend can obtain (Chromium, Copper, Iron, Manganese, and Tin). Be sure to look through your Delivery Box once the little guys are done digging for Ores.

But what if your pets aren’t doing a good job? Consider getting rid of them with the help of a Goodbye Meatball, which the Mysterious Man can purchase for 500 Gols. Of course, doing this feels like a disservice to your building up the Workshop. It helps to have a companion around to aid you in specific tasks.

Alternatively, you can await Ged’s arrival at your doorstep for the “What’s Mine is Yours” side mission. This unlocks the Mole Mine delivery service, where you can sign up for a subscription to receive Ores. This occurs later in the game, and it’s a handy service to consider when you’re through with exploring Abandoned Ruins for Ores. Head over to the Mole Cave Abandoned Ruins in the Badlands to see if this is an option for you.

It all comes down to preference in the end. While diving into the Eufaula Salvage Abandoned Ruins is likely your best option, there’s more than one way to go about it in My Time at Sandrock.
