Some of the best games in survival horror are getting an upgrade! On March 2nd, Capcom announced that visual upgrades for Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 would be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S later this year. These upgrades would come at no additional cost for those who own the games on Playstation 4, Xbox One, or PC.

Today, Capcom followed up with some more news on the official Resident Evil Twitter about the upgrades and what players can expect to carry over to the new, current-gen versions. There will be no need to start any playthroughs over since save data will carry over. Additionally, any DLC you’ve purchased or that comes bundled will transfer over as well.

The upgrade will also be available to those with a physical copy of any of the games. The upgrades will, of course, be digital. At the time, Capcom isn’t planning to release physical copies of these upgrades. Each new-generation title will include “cutting–edge features including ray tracing, high frame rate and 3D audio for an enhanced gameplay experience.”

If you want to step into the world of survival horror, several of the games are currently on discount. The deluxe edition of Resident Evil Village is 40% off. If you want to dive into a remake of one of the best games in the series, Resident Evil 2 is 60% off. Finally, the series’s reintroduction into the world of survival horror, Resident Evil 7, is half off. Both Resident Evil 2 and 7 will be eligible for the upgrades later this year.
