Are you waiting to dive back into some more Resident Evil? Then allow me to tell you about the Resident Evil Village Gold Edition!
Capcom announced the upcoming update during their not E3 Games Showcase. The highlight of the Gold Edition is the new story DLC, Shadows of Rose. Starring Rose Winters, it takes place 16 years after the events of Village, Ethan’s daughter returns. According to the game’s website, Rose will enter the consciousness of the Megamycete.
For those that don’t recall, the Megamycete is the source of the Mold introduced in Resident Evil 7.
Resident Evil Village Gold Edition also introduces a third-person mode. Among other things, it will prove that Ethan Winters is a real person with a real body and not a figment of our imagination.
Three new characters join The Mercenaries with the Gold Edition. Chris Redfield, Karl Heisenberg, and Alcina Dimitrscu all join the cast. New stages are being promised as well.
The Resident Evil Gold Edition will release on October 28th. It will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Steam.
In other Resident Evil news, the next-gen update for Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 is available now. The update is designed for the games’ Xbox Series X|S and PS5 versions. It brings ray-traying and optimization to take advantage of the power of the new consoles.
This helps close out a big two weeks for the franchise. Last week, the Resident Evil 4 remake was finally announced after much speculation.
