The remake of one of BioWare’s best games of all time was announced last year. Aspyr board member Matthew Karch called the upcoming title a “massive product.” Aspyr and Saber Interactive are working together to tackle development.

“Aspyr has gone full in to make this the best game that they can make, Karch said. “When we acquired Aspyr, we knew from the start that they would require our assistance…Saber has tremendous expertise in creating these types of products.”

Saber Interactive most recently released Evil Dead: The Game. They also have assisted in developing the Windows versions of several Halo games, the Switch version of Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and the remaster of the Crysis trilogy.

Knights of the Old Republic, originally released on Xbox in 2003 for the original Xbox, is one of the best Star Wars games of all time. It is a groundbreaking RPG that delivers a satisfying tabletop RPG experience with a deep and involved narrative.

The KOTOR remake will debut on PC and PlayStation 5 at launch. Ryan Treadwell, Lead Producer at Aspyr Media, hopes to satisfy both old and new fans of the beloved game.

“With Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake, our hope is to give both series newcomers and long-term fans an experience that can live alongside the very best modern releases,” Treadwell says. “We’re rebuilding it from the ground up with the latest tech to match the groundbreaking standard of innovation established by the original, all while staying true to its revered story.

With a slew of upcoming summer game festivities to replace the event formerly known as E3, expect to hear more from Saber Interactive and Aspyr Media on the KOTOR remake soon. To confirm this, Karch mentioned that we will hear more about the game “in the next several months.”
