Bethesda Games have always been long, and it looks like the upcoming Xbox-exclusive Starfield won’t be any different. Comments have leaked from a former character artist. They indicate that the game will likely be so large that Bethesda will need to “cut” content from it, so it releases on time. We can also expect to see a beta release this summer. These comments come from a ResetEra user called ‘Hevy008.’
The user’s posts were captured and published on Imgur before being deleted on ResetEra. Heyv008 says Starfield is “looking good,” but the new Bethesda engine is “a piece of crap,” unfortunately. He does comment on the leadership of Todd Howard. Heyv008 says he is “charismatic” and that the company was a good and “secure” workplace.
He does provide more specific details on the game. While “shooting feels alright,” he says “flying is terrible” and “not fun” to him. It isn’t all bad, though. The game continues to look “better and better” but not quite on the level of “HFW,” which probably points toward Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Forbidden West. He says that Bethesda will “[try to] ship on time,” but they’re working through “finding the fun” in the game, bug fixes, and an “overabundance” of content.
While rumors like this are often hard to verify, these are likely true. Jason Schreier from Bloomberg responded in the same ResetEra thread and said that at the very least, “Hevy008 [is] legit,” but he can’t “back up everything they said.” He also hopes that Bethesda’s lawyers don’t come after Hevy008.
We hope that Starfield still hits its November 11, 2022 release date. However, these comments make us a tiny bit uneasy. The game is still planned to also come to Game Pass for PC and Xbox on day one. We expect to learn more about Starfield in the coming months.
