Bethesda Studios has been quiet for a while, but they’re finally ready to discuss a Starfield release date.
A new trailer reveals that Starfield will be available on September 6th, 2023. It is releasing exclusively for Xbox and PC.
While the Starfield release date trailer is light on details, Todd Howard assures us that more information is coming.
“We are so excited to finally tell you when Starfield is coming out this year,” Howard says in the video. “We have poured ourselves into this game, and even I’m surprised how much we can pour; it is large. We’re playing the game all the time…but also, this June, we’re going to bring you into the studio and give you a deep dive into the game at our Starfield Direct.”
Behind Howard, you can see development team members actively playing the game.
Starfield is the first new franchise from Bethesda in 25 years. The game’s description states that Starfield is a “next generation role-playing game set amongst the stars.” Players will “embark on an epic journey to answer humanity’s greatest mystery.”
The Starfield Direct, the second in the new Xbox Developer Direct series, will air on June 11th. It will take place after the Xbox Games Showcase. We’ll learn much more about the game then.
