At launch, Subnautica: Below Zero featured a weapon known as the Stasis Rifle, which can be used to freeze and all creatures, making for easier kills. The rifle was removed from vanilla play, but can still be gotten through console commands. The textures that belonged to the rifle originally have been removed, but the gun still works as it had previously. Here’s how to get it.
How to Get the Stasis Rifle in Subnautica: Below Zero
To get the Stasis Rifle in Subnautica: Below Zero on PC, open up the developer console and type “item stasisrifle” (without the quotations). Doing this will add the rifle directly to your inventory. This is the only way to get the weapon after its removal, so if you aren’t willing to break the rules a little bit, then you, unfortunately, won’t be able to get this weapon otherwise.
To access the console, you’re going to need to first press F3 on your keyboard to open a checkbox in the top left of your screen. The checkbox will read “Disable Console”, so to uncheck it, press F8 to bring up a mouse cursor and press the checkbox. This will activate the console and make it available to use.
If you’re trying to get the Stasis Rifle on Xbox or PlayStation, you may be out of luck as developers have removed it from the game. While the developer console can be accessed by hitting either LB+RB or L1+R1 while in the pause menu, the console version of the game does not have as extensive a developer console. Thus, you won’t be able to get the weapon.
It’s possible that the developers will add the weapon back in at some point, but for now, this is the only way to get the Stasis Rifle.
