Collecting the Gratitude Crystals in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD promises great rewards for Link. The character Batreaux desires them, and you can trade them in with him to receive a variety of valuables. To obtain them, you’ll need to play through the Gratitude Crystals side quests. One of which involves a haunted restroom and some important toilet paper. In order to complete the quest for those Crystals, you’re going to need to find the paper. Keep reading onward to see where you can locate the essential item.
Where to Find Paper in Zelda: Skyward Sword HD
The paper you need is basically toilet paper for an unknown being who resides in the Knight Academy washroom. This strange being will ask for it, and it’s your job to obtain some. Cawlin will have paper for you, but it’s a love letter addressed to a specific someone special. He can be found in the Academy’s hallway. Cawlin will ask you to deliver the letter, but it’s up to you whether you want to be a part of young love or a distributor for a used paper on toilets. These are the only two options, and you’ll receive five Gratitude Crystals regardless of your choice.
The mystery behind the Knight Academy restroom can be started by either talking to Henya or the men at the Bazaar. They will both mention a strange sound coming from the restroom. Sleep until night then head to the restroom. The voice will beg for paper, and Link will have to sleep until morning in order to speak with Cawlin.
Cawlin wishes to have the letter delivered to Karane, and you can be a part of this chapter of love by delivering the letter to her. She’ll be in the first floor. Unfortunately, Karane has feelings for Pipit, and you’ll have to watch this love triangle unfold in a cutscene. Bring the news to Pipit, and then go back to Karane to commence the scene. Once the moment passes, you’ll receive your Crystals.
On the other hand, you can give the paper to the toilet to watch things play out differently. Cawlin will be severely disappointed in you, and the love triangle will remain undiscovered. The toilet, which turns out to be a ghostly homage to Hanako-san in the form of a spirit hand, will appreciate your efforts for the paper. The next day, head to Groose’s room to find a sleeping Cawlin who is being oddly caressed by the ghost’s hand. She will then reward you with the Gratitude Crystals after expressing her newfound love for Cawlin.
Remember, there are 80 Gratitude Crystals to collect, and this little toilet paper quest gives you just a small amount. Hopefully, this guide was helpful in navigating the haunted restroom and acquiring the critical paper.
