Here are all the slayers in Dead Island 2:

Dead Island 2 Slayers: All Playable Characters

Banoi Island

The Slayers in Dead Island 2, which are playable, consist of Ryan, Dani, Jacob, Carla, and Bruno. They all have their fair share of quirks and innate characteristics, but playstyles also differ. In addition, each Dead Island 2 character comes with their own abilities.

Deep Silver’s latest apocalyptic-zombie entry comes with characters with their own backstories and dialogue, which can get tedious in the long run. So, which Dead Island 2 slayer is the right fit for you, and what playstyle should you go for?

1. Ryan

Now, Ryan is a Fresno native and exotic dancer who seeked LA in search of more. But he didn’t expect a zombie apocalypse. Ryan spent most of his time looking after his little brother whenever he wasn’t entertaining the ladies at bachelorette parties. Considering the city went to hell, Ryan is hell-bent on tracking down his brother in Hell-A.

Ryan’s rugged and flexible. He’s a fast Dead Island 2 character. Ryan can avoid any wide hits and ambushes with a neat 5 Toughness. As for his stamina and resistance, he stands at level 4. He’s undoubtedly a master in evasion, but where he falls flat is agility. He’s not as mobile as expected, but he sure packs a punch in the stamina department.

Skills

Seesaw: Ryan’s health recovers every time he knocks down a zombie.
Retaliation: Whenever using block or dodge, Ryan gets a force boost.

2. Carla

Carla grew up in the streets and is a motorcycle racer from Los Angeles. So naturally, she’s pretty good at zombie slaying. This Dead Island 2 slayer always needs to be preoccupied; in this case, she needs the adrenaline from decimating zombies. Carla was formerly a mechanic who loved getting her hands dirty with various vehicles.

When it comes to her stats, Carla is pretty tanky. She’s got a hard shell owing to her 5 resilience. Her health recovery comes down to 3 but makes it up with her level 4 Toughness. If you’re really worried about health recovery and defense stats, Carla is by far the best Slayer pick in Dead Island 2.

Skills

Dig Deep: Carla receives a moderate toughness boot whenever she’s in critical health.
Mosh Pit: Carla receives a slight damage boot when swarmed by multiple zombies.

3. Bruno

Bruno is the slickest Dead Island 2 slayer in the game. He’s a smooth-talker and gentleman gone thief. Regardless of his situation, Bruno is useful through and through. Irrespective of the posh nature of LA, Bruno wants to be applicable regardless of the circumstances.

Bruno is a beast owing to his high-damage build. He’s fast and ferocious. His agility is a solid 4, with his shining critical damage stat at a level 5. Unfortunately, agility and health recovery are not his strongest points, both at a level 3.

Skills

Rapid Reprisal: Whenever Bruno blocks or dodges an attack, he gains a temporary boost in heavy attack charges and agility.
Backstab: Bruno deals extra damage whenever he encounters zombies from behind.

4. Amy

Amy is another Los Angeles local who saw the city go up in flames right before her eyes. She was an athlete before the whole zombie apocalypse ordeal. But her winner’s mindset is still intact. She leads in the worst situations and doesn’t like to lose.

Owing to her athleticism, Amy has a peak agility of 5 with critical damage at a level 3. But she’s pretty feeble in the defense department. Amy’s toughness stands at level 1, with her peak health at level 2. She’s an all-rounder regarding recovery, resistance, and stamina, all at a level 3. If you want to pick off zombies one by one and aren’t too focused on killing many enemies at a time, she’s the lone-ranger Dead Island 2 slayer you’ve been looking for.

Skills

Divide and Conquer: Amy receives a slight damage boost when encountering isolated zombies.
Relief Pitcher: Amy’s stamina recovers when hitting zombies with a weapon throw.

5. Dani

Dani was formerly a Boston local that quickly embraced the native punk and alternative scene of LA as soon as she left her hometown. She joined the roller derby team to keep herself busy, which explains why she’s so quick on her feet.

If you want a fast-paced Dead Island 2 slayer experience, Dani is your best bet. She’s a mean, explosive-slinging, quick-shot. She’s always on the move, decimating one zombie and moving on to the next. She’s got a quintessential stamina of 5 with a surprisingly awesome peak health of 4. But on the flip side, she has a low health recovery at 1. But she makes up for it with her agility and ruggedness.

Skills

Bloodlust: Making up for low health recovery, Dani regains health by slaying multiple zombies in quick succession
Thunderous: Dani’s heavy attacks cause an explosion on impact.

6. Jacob

Finally, we’re welcomed with the poster child of Dead Island 2, as seen in the Gamescom trailer. Before the whole outbreak ordeal, Jacob worked as a stuntman. He grew up in London. He’s always on the move and proactive and doesn’t like to waste his time. He’s pretty well-rounded, and you’ll find him quoting writers like William Shakespeare occasionally.

Jacob has a peak health of 5, with decent stamina at a level 4. Critical damage stands at level 3. Jacob is practically a critical hit machine, and he relies on stat buffs to make the most of his arsenal. He has some decent resistance but lacks in the health recovery, toughness, and agility departments.

Skills

Critical Gains: Jacob gets critical hits when his stamina is low. Critical damage goes up, and stamina is regained.
Frenzy: Whenever he attacks in quick succession, Jacob gains damage buffs that are stackable.

And that pretty much wraps up all the Dead Island 2 characters dubbed as the Slayers. Dead Island 2 has characters with various playstyles, but it’s a shame we can’t play as Sam B. Still, out of the six slayers, one of them could certainly be a fit for you.
