How to Get the Mortal Soul Core in Nioh 2
Soul Cores are special items in Nioh 2, with the Mortal Soul Core being one of its many variants that you can find. This soul core can be used to fuse with another Soul Core to strengthen it. They are mostly obtained by defeating Yokai.
The Mortal Soul Core however is quite rare, as players can only find it via random drops when defeating One-eyed Imps, Magara Naotaka, and some human bosses.
While this may sound discouraging, there are certain missions you can play that give you the best chance of finding a Mortal Soul Core. Specifically, you’ll want to complete the following missions: The Brother’s Blades, Pervading Waters, and The Missing Gun. They have tons of Mortal enemies for you to fight, which will increase your chance of getting a drop.
Additionally, if you equip items that offer an increased Soul Core drop, that’ll help out a lot.
Once you have the core, head over to the Blacksmith to use it. While you’re there, you can Soul Match the Mortal core with another to increase the power of the selected core you want to upgrade.
