The first thing you will need to do is to find seeds. To get tree seeds you must chop down a tree with a Bronze Axe or better. Seed like carrots and turnips can found on the ground, they are quite easy to spot, as they are both larger and have more of a glow.  In order to plant these seeds though, you will need a Cultivator.

To make a cultivator you will need to defeat Eikthyr the Stag who is the first boss you will find in the game. You won’t be able to plant anything until you defat this boss.  After Eikthyr is defeated, you will need to create a smelter. In order to do this you will need five Surtling Cores as well as 20 stones. You are able to find Surtling Cores in the underground burial chambers in the black forrest.

When you have the smelter, you will need to turn raw copper ore into bars. Make six of these and combine them with ten pieces of wood, four stone and a piece of coal. This is so you can make a forge. Place copper and tin into the forge so you can turn it into bronze. After that you should have the recipe you need to create the cultivator. To make it, you will need five pieces of wood and five of bronze.

Now you have the cultivator you can begin growing trees and planting seeds. To do this you must equip the cultivator and right-click. This will bring up a menu that will give you an option to cultivate. Once this is done you can select the area you want to plant seeds in. Simply click on an area of ground and it should turn into the land.

Once this is done right-click and select the seeds you want to plant. Now you must wait until they grow, this can differ in time depending on the type of seed, and most will take a few in-game days to grow.

You should avoid placing seeds together in one spot, as there is a limit on how many seeds can grow in a area. So spread them out.

Now that you know how to plant seeds, you’ll have a renewable source to help you craft items like food and furniture. If you liked this guide, then check out the links below.
