It’s no secret that Elden Ring is chock full of weapons and armor, to the point where we’re going insane trying to figure out what to wear and wield. However, when it comes to taking on the winged beasts of the Lands Between — that’s right, dragons — the choice is pretty clear. You’ll want the Dragon King’s Cragblade. Not only does this bad boy have piercing, but also some uber-cool lightning damage effects, which is why so many players are looking for it. So, read on to find learn how to get it!

How to Get Dragon King’s Cragblade in Elden Ring

How to Get Dragon King's Cragblade in Elden Ring

To get the Dragon King’s Cragblade in Elden Ring, you need to defeat the secret boss Dragonlord Placidusax. Defeat a dragonlord for a dragon-worthy sword? Only seems fair. While this fight is stupendously hard, reaching the legendary beast himself is equally difficult. To find Dragonlord Placidusax, you’ll need to reach Crumbling Farum Azula.

Once you’ve made your way here, now you need to find the fight with Dragonlord Placidusax. It is a secret fight after all. First, head to the Great Bridge Site of Grace in Crumbling Farum Azula. From here, take the elevator down, turn right, and descend the stairs, taking another hard right until you’re outside. Once outside, look for a small lantern near the cliff’s edge. You should see a small ledge you can jump down to if you rotate your camera angle to look below, to the right, of that lantern.

Continue down this path of floating boulders until you reach the bottom. When you reach the largest flat piece at the bottom, directly in front of the tornado, you’ll see a prompt to lie down in one of the frames. When you interact with it, you will be transported to the battle with Dragonlord Placidusax. However, just as you would expect, FromSoftware doesn’t make the Dragon King’s Cragblade a simple drop from defeating this boss. Instead, you have to make the sword yourself.

After defeating Dragonlord Placidusax, you’ll receive Remembrance of the Dragonlord. Essentially, this grants you the option to create a few legendary weapons and items, one being the Dragon King’s Cragblade. To create the sword, you need to trade the Remembrance of the Dragonlord with Enia at Roundtable Hold. Now finally, the Dragon King’s Cragblade is yours to wield, as long as you possess 18 Strength and 37 Dexterity, that is.
