While a Pokémon Scarlet and Violet patch already existed for the game’s release with a day one update, the game still suffered several technical issues.

Nintendo announced that a new update, version 1.1.0, will go live on Thursday, December 1st.

The full list of patch notes is super brief and vague but offers hope to improve the game’s performance issues. Despite releasing with new gameplay updates and innovations to the Pokémon formula, Scarlet and Violet suffer from critical technical issues. Some players have discovered the possible reasoning and offered temporary fixes. Still, the game suffers from poor performance.

Nintendo’s customer service reportedly claims that they have not heard of these issues. Most likely, however, this is just a scripted response; today’s update shows that the development team is aware of the problems and is working on addressing them.

This new Pokémon Scarlet and Violet patch aims to fix some of the game’s bugs and hiccups, but the official patch notes are vague about what they’re fixing.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet were released exclusively for Nintendo Switch on November 18th. The games sold over 10 million copies in just three days. It is the second game in the franchise to release this year. Pokémon Legends: Arceus was released in January 2022.
